Notes from Today's lecture
Today we discuss about how ethos, pathos and logos in the famous speech called, 'I have a dream' by Martin Luther King JR.
since MLK is a man of color he made the speech for colors equality.
When he talk about the death of African Americans you were able to hear people scream since they were affected. He used Pathos.
Ethos- the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations.
Pathos- a quality that evokes pity or sadness.
Logos- statement, sentence, or argument used to convince or persuade the targeted audience by employing reason or logic
When MLK gives his speech he uses pathos when he was talking about the history of African Americans when they were slaves back in the colonial days since those were harsh days for African Americans.
The way he uses ethos is by using the word the racial word that starts with in 'n' this was a hateful word used by white people to called African Americans during colonial times
since MLK is a man of color he made the speech for colors equality.
When he talk about the death of African Americans you were able to hear people scream since they were affected. He used Pathos.

ON SELF-RELIANCE PART 3
- Emerson felt offended that he couldn't be himself
- Vanity- a desire to look good and Malice- desire to do evil
- "Don't act that your good, when you are not"
- Emerson doesn't like people do things just to present themselves as good
- Virtues- behavior showing high moral standards.
- "I don't need someone to give me a pat in the back just because I did my own job"
- "For non conformity the world whips you with its displeasure"
- I've agree with the sentence above since in our world, if you don't follow along as everyone in the program has then you are going to get disapprove and negative.
