Final Reflection for American Literature 2019-2020

A quite eventful school unlike any other..."

1.) I can defineilty say this course was oh so different then any course that I have taken. Why is that? Well first off we didn't work based off a textbook but we work with the techolongy and the internet, which was refreshing since working with the streotypical textbook and answering from them was quite boring.

2.) When I look back from the experience we spent together, the most meaningful that happen has been the conference that Dr. Preston and I had for. It was meaningful since although I had a little anxiety attack I was able to continue on the conference.

3.) From the things we have that I at least I felt accomplished was when we had the conference. Despite my anxiety attack, I still was able to talk to Dr. Preston and not freak out more then I would. Thanks to that experience, I have been able to reflect to see how I can do better and what I need to do when I'm in situation like that.

4. ) I really wish I developed a schedule on posting on my blog, I did lack on them on time to time and was mentally prepare for the conference we had.

5.) As I head to I new year and start my senior, I'll certainly won't forget this class. This class help to be able to expand my thought bubbles and who different Dr. Preston was a teacher, you understood us as students and I really like that.

6. ) I will be choosing the Credit/No Credit.
Yes I haven't post anything since we went to quarantine, and that was on me. I didn't make the time to do all the work due to my personal situation that has been happening at my home. But before quarantine I was active and posting at least daily.

Cue Theme Music

One of the perspective about the discussion we had in class the message of Gatsby that caught my eyes is about how a man is willing to go for a love from the past to the point of death. It caught my eye is because Gatsby really did do bizarre things just to have the romantic relationship that he had with Daisy. Like he took the blame of the death of Tom's mistress when it was Daisy who ran over Tom's mistress that caused her to died. Since Gatsby took the blame it resulted in his death. As for my perspective it is different then the one of my classmate. To me the message of Gatsby is you can't change the past and you need to live in the moment. The reason I believe that is the message of Gatsby is because Gatsby is always brings up the past as everyone else is living in the moment.

When Daisy wanted to go to town Tom ignore her until Gatsby and Daisy were staring at each other like they were the only person there, that's when Tom got a bit mad and said they'll go to town.

Tom is very mad at Nick and Jordan knowing Gatsby and Daisy little thing going on that he even is researching about Gatsby

Daisy's reaction towards her daughter is that she is like a doll that too delciate as for Gatsby's reaction he didn't say much about her but that he sees the Daisy in the kid

The confrontation between Tom and Gatsby is quiet a fierce one, with the two saying that Daisy loves either one more, but in the end Gatsby wins the heart of Daisy

Daisy and Gatsby were in a car and Daisy accidentally ran over Tom's little mistress

In the end of the Chapter we can tell that Daisy is just a very selfish person that can't decide what she wants

Gatsby 38-48

When Nick looks at his watch it was 9 and then after 10 because of the whiskey he consume that made the time past

Tom which is Daisy's husband broke Mrs. Wilson's nose since when he was out with his mistress at the party they attended to she kept on mentioning Daisy which triggered Tom

GATSBY NOTES AND THOUGHTS: CHAPTER 6

We are introduce to a new character name, James Gatz, who has been lofting along the beach

Tuolomee- It is a county in California

antecedent
- a thing or event that existed before or logically precedes another

Gatsby seems very irritated with Tom (Daisy's Husband) presences

Tom seems to be very jealous of Mister Gatsby's little history with Daisy and keeps on saying that Daisy doesn't want to be back with him even tho everyone knows she does

bootlegger-a person who makes, distributes, or sells goods illegally

Gatsby thinks that Daisy didn't have a good time at his grand party but Nick keeps telling him she did

Gatsby is really upset that him and Daisy have lost the love they have once had and the spark between the two.

Gatsby tells Nick that him and Daisy had this kiss that was very romantic that he wants to re-create those days but Nick thinks that it's just unrealistic to revive the past

Notes and Thoughts on Gatsby Chapter 5

It is interesting how Gatsby becomes very horrified of seeing Daisy even tho he loves her very much that he moved the same area as her

It is really cute on how Gatsby and Daisy are remembering the past between each other as Nick gets more info about his cousin

Gatsby 12-26

I read the great Gatsby in class today in pages 12 throu

Nick's cousin husband, Tom complements his house, this stick outs since usually people visiting the house complements the house not the owner

Daisy, the narrtors second cousin is very self observed she will talk about one thing then talk about something else within seconds

Notes from Today's lecture

Today we discuss about how ethos, pathos and logos in the famous speech called, 'I have a dream' by Martin Luther King JR.

Ethos- the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations.

Pathos- a quality that evokes pity or sadness.

Logos- statement, sentence, or argument used to convince or persuade the targeted audience by employing reason or logic

When MLK gives his speech he uses pathos when he was talking about the history of African Americans when they were slaves back in the colonial days since those were harsh days for African Americans.

The way he uses ethos is by using the word the racial word that starts with in 'n' this was a hateful word used by white people to called African Americans during colonial times

since MLK is a man of color he made the speech for colors equality.
When he talk about the death of African Americans you were able to hear people scream since they were affected. He used Pathos.
